It's blog day 3 out of 5 this week! So much stuff to share from an unbelievable week. On Saturday we got the chance to shoot for Amanda and Jon at Riverdale Manor in Lancaster. This was such a fun wedding to shoot. Amanda and Jon saw each other and hopped into the city with us for some portraits, then we all went back to Riverdale and partied the night away. This wedding had emotion, humor and a whole lot of fun. When we left, Amy and I realized that we really just wanted to be guests. Everyone was having such a good time. If there's one trend that seems to always hold true, it's that we always seem to LOVE weddings that we shoot in Lancaster. Such a great backdrop for photo and everyone that gets married there always seems to be cool :)

Erika and Nick got married at Riverdale Manor (a place we love) and had a very emotional, very powerful ceremony. We really loved everything about their day except for one thing: the cold. Lucky for us, them and their bridal party could run a clinic on how to handle weather like a champion! We also got to work with some other great people, The Couture Cakery and DJ Freez. Quite an amazing story to share with you today:

A few months ago, I met Anna. Like most of our clients do, she came into our living room and told us all about her plans for her wedding. It sounded awesome. A vintage wedding at one of our favorite places. She was super nice and I just couldn't wait to work with them.

Then a short while later I got a call that started to sound vaguely familiar. It was the 'cancellation call'. As Anna was talking, I was bummed because I knew that she was about to say that the wedding was off... and then I started listening to the story. Here it is in a nutshell:

A few years ago, Anna got diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. After seeking medical advice, she was told that she'd need to undergo major surgery and therefore would lose the ability to reproduce, among other things. Luckily for Anna, she got another opinion. She found a doctor who was willing to treat her without the surgery, although the chances of things like having children were still extremely thin. After treatment (and with the doctor's advice), Anna and Luke decided they should start trying for a child. The chances were very, very low... but low and behold, it happened!

So, Anna told me this story and (as amazed as I was) then told me that the baby's due date is the exact same day as their wedding was scheduled. Pretty crazy coincidence!

Although we can no longer shoot their wedding, we got a chance to meet up with Anna and Luke to get some wedding shots a few weeks early :)... Here's some of our session with them in their GORGEOUS home town of Mount Gretna. Enjoy!...

Saturday's wedding with Nicole and Jimmy was another beautiful weekend day at another of our favorite places, Riverdale Manor. We actually got to sit with these guys at Emil and Jason's wedding in October, so we've been planning out everything since then. It was quite the beautiful ceremony. Lots of cool moments, and outdoor dance floor, and tons of cool people. Just our perfect type of day...

On Friday, I had the pleasure to be back out behind the camera. Of my 3 shoots that were scheduled around this weekend, Dena & Mark were the only ones who were waterproof (and windproof and thermal). Big thanks to them for being willing to go out. I actually really wanted to shoot in the rain, so it was fun! We went to Elizabethtown College, where both of them went to school and where they'll be getting married this October.

Also, since the shoot was near where I grew up, I had the pleasure of being joined by my Dad as an assistant extraordinaire. Thanks for dealing with the weather Dad! Hope you're not sick :)

Happy Apple Announcement Day everyone! I've been getting as much work as possible done before 1pm this afternoon. Like all tech nerds, I'll be glued to my computer listening to every word Steve Jobs says so that I can know how my robot-like brain will be interacting with the world for the next several years. Hopefully you all do the same.

Well, before I go off into Apple-related-hybernation for the next few hours, I want to share this wedding from this past weekend. Amy and I have had the pleasure of spending lots of time in the last few months at our 2 favorite Lancaster spots, The Inn at Leola Village and Riverdale Manor. Jennifer and Loren combined the two (got ready at Leola, had everything else at Riverdale) and left a bunch of time for portraits in the middle. It was a really elegant wedding. Very well planned, which meant for a very stress free and on-schedule day. No running around or extra stress for us. I can't tell you how happy that makes me. Anyway, I love these images. It was very hard for me to wait this long to post my second wedding from last weekend. Even in the midst of busyness, last weekend just really stands out for me as a great one. Without a doubt, one of the biggest reasons is because of Kim + Dan. From the time I first met with Kim (which almost didn't happen since it was such a busy month), I was just incredibly excited to work for these two. When we met Dan, even he said how lucky we were to be working for Kim, because as we would soon find out, she is literally the nicest person on earth.

Between their engagement session, a Phillies game, and bunch of emails and phone calls, I feel like I've gotten to know these guys so well. It was almost sad leaving the next morning, since we had so much fun. Thanks guys, for making your wedding a wonderful experience for everyone, but especially us. Thanks for the glasses (which are Amy's favorite, we use them every day). Thanks for the Phillies game. Thanks for the awesome hotel room with the jacuzzi tub. I can't imagine anyone being that cool... you guys are the best.

Now, with all that said, the wedding was in the gorgeous town of Lititz, PA at an old, secluded church. It really felt like the only people around were at the wedding. Then the reception was at one of my new favorite places, the Inn at Leola Village. That place is a gem. After being there twice in the last 3 weeks, I can honestly say that we really love everything about it. The food, the rooms and the staff are all just top of the line. Thanks to Stephanie for hooking everything up and to my new best friend JLo for being awesome and finding my lost lenses :)... Enough talking... enjoy the images...
