Frequently Asked Questions

Here’s a few answers to questions that our couples are often curious about. If you have more questions, please reach out! We’re happy to answer or to cover them during a consultation.

We have two primary goals for how we shoot and how we run our business:

Be Original.
Above all, we strive to be unique. While that means creativity and technique behind the camera, it also comes from listening, learning and getting to know our clients. The means adapting and adjusting our work to fit you. Our weddings don’t look cookie cutter because you aren’t either!  Check out our Blog and see all our recent examples!

Be Genuine.
We strive for transparency and authenticity. We show every wedding we shoot, not just people that look a certain way. The wedding industry can be a shady place. We don’t pay venues or vendors for referrals. We don’t take on weddings and then find a random photographer to shoot it. We believe that if we run a client-focused business with integrity, creativity and fun, the work will keep coming! For nearly two decades, it has!

Of course! We’re a boutique studio. We believe in personal attention and authentic experience. When you reach out, you can choose either Amy & Tony Hoffer or our Associate Jim Heine. Whoever you choose, you’ll hear directly from us, meet with us, work through your timeline with us and get photographed by us.

We don’t have a sales staff or a large ‘roster’ of photographers. We don’t book weddings and then ‘assign’ a photographer later. Weddings are an intimate and personal experience. Knowing (and liking) your photographer is critical to being able to feel comfortable and enjoy your day! We start that process from Day 1.

Absolutely! We’ve traveled all over the world for weddings, engagements and commercial work. We’re based in Philly and work mostly in the tri-state area, but we’ve been to all 50 states and have shot all over North + Central America as well as Asia, Africa and Europe.

Whether you’re interested in a destination wedding, an elopement, or engagement photos down the shore, the answer is always ‘Yes!’. We love an adventure!

Our style has been described as ‘authentic and elevated’.  We focus on an easy-going, documentary style with gentle guidance for portraits and lighting. We pride ourselves on being adaptable and using our experience and skills to fit into your day, not the other way around.

You won’t find us bossing you around, taking over your day or trying to dictate every action. Our goal is to fit in for an effortless feel, giving suggestions when helpful, and making you feel at ease at all times!

Among the things we’re most proud of is that we’ve worked hard to keep our editing true-to-life. That means real, natural colors and avoiding trends that can quickly go out of style. We want your photos to hold up over years and decades and we’re proud to say that we’ve always been that way!

Absolutely! Reach out to us and we’ll be happy to share a full gallery from a similar wedding. We highly recommend seeing full galleries as it helps get a sense of a full day of coverage and shows you more than just the highlights.

Quickly! We post a preview of every wedding that we shoot to our blog within a week… usually faster. You’ll get the full gallery of photos back in less than 4 weeks. We don’t mess around when it comes to delivery times!

We also edit everything in house! We don’t outsource edits to a service or use AI on your images. We know our clients personally and that means you get us (not a machine) from the beginning to the end.

You can get things started by filling out our Contact form. We’ll send you some info and a full pricing breakdown. Then we can set up a time to get to know each other and answer any questions you may have. If you feel comfortable, then just say the word and we’ll be there! All the info, meeting and booking takes place online. Easy!
