Earlier this week we met up with Kara and Kenny in Olde City. We hung out at a bar, took a walk around Olde City and then met up with their dogs by the Art Museum. It was a pretty complete tour of Philly. We loved shooting for them. In the next year Kara will be a bride and a maid of honor of ours... So you'll see plenty of her.

One of our travels this summer will be out to beautiful Spokane, WA to shoot Amy and Ryan's wedding. We've sort of known these guys for a little while through the online wedding photography world since they run Britton Photography back at home. Last week, they made the journey out to PA to visit and shoot their engagement photos. They like nature and trees, so we found them some. The leafy green (non pine tree) variety that Pennsylvania does so well. Here's a few of our favorites...

Our second stop last week was in the great state of Georgia. It was our first time shooting there and Tony's first time in Atlanta. Perhaps as important is that it was our first time at FLIP Burger, although certainly not our last. Daniel and Kathryn skyped with us a while back and we cannot wait to shoot their wedding next year in Atlanta. For their engagement shoot, we wandered around their favorite brewery and then a few spots around town. A huge thanks to them for their willingness to get soaked for our last few shots. I think it was worth it! Here's a few of our favorites... as always, kind comments are encouraged to tell Daniel and Kathryn how well we think they dress...

You are absolutely right about their outfits… snappy dressers! I also love that they chose a brewery for their engagement shots. It’s a clever twist for such a special occasion and I find it sooo refreshing when couples choose places that are more personal to their relationships.
First of all, they are a pretty awesome looking couple. Great job! Secondly, is there a reason why my iPad is displaying random photos that don’t belong on each blog post? This post, for example, had several family portraits and a few wedding portraits from other clients you’ve shot.

Totally, 100% in love with these photos. I love that they did the Sweetwater brewery and you got some amazing shots of an impeccably dressed couple. Love them, and I adore the photography. Flip burger was the icing on the cake, I’m sure.
This week we found ourselves on a quick whirlwind trip through North Carolina, Georgia and back home. For a two-ish day trip it was pretty incredible how much we saw and (more importantly) how much we ate. In North Carolina, we met up with Barbara and Bryan. We got to see much more of Durham than we did a few years ago for our workshop and we shot at an incredible golf course in Chapel Hill. We loved this shoot and the time we had with Barbara and Bryan... the fried green tomatoes, BBQ and pickles were pretty good too...

Earlier this week we made the trek up to NYC to shoot for Ray and Theresa. Ray works for a great company that has several avenues to raise money for HIV/Aids patients and we got to shoot for a while in their bookstore. Then we took the short cab ride to the Brooklyn Bridge and watched Theresa tough it out with her heels on a huge bridge. We had great weather and great light. When all was said and done, we had some great burgers too. Enjoy!...

One of our favorite things to do when we shoot is wander. We like finding a place and going in without a plan. Mel and Tim wanted to head down to Old City with only a very rough outline of what their shoot would look like, which was quite perfect for us. It took us about 20 seconds for us to realize that this shoot would be a piece of cake. Mel has a beautiful smile, Tim has an infectious laugh. Sometimes it's a pretty easy job. On our last day in the sunshine state, we stayed in San Diego for Lori and Eric's engagement session. These guys are straight up cool. There's nothing better for us than shooting for people who know and love our work. Seriously. It's so great to be able to show up and just have fun and do whatever we want. Within 10 minutes of starting we were already making poor Lori climb, straddle and lay inside trees. Just a great shoot to end a great trip. Here's a few of our favorites...

Mr. and Mrs.Hoffer – now we understand why Eric and Lori designed their wedding plans around your work. Pictures are TAKEN, great pictures are MADE, but true art is CREATED. Can’t wait to see all of your work. I hope you both enjoyed two of my favorite places on Earth – Balboa Park and La Jolla (which means “the jewel” in Spanish). I know Lori and Eric were completely thrilled that you could come out there and see all the photographic posibilites of those two locations. THANKS for sharing your creativity. After a fun weekend in L.A., we headed down the 5 (that's California lingo for driving on a highway) to San Diego for a few days. On Monday, we met up with Cat & Steve in Ocean Beach. Great place. Lots of character. It's so funny for us to be able to drive to a gorgeous place, pull practically right up to the sand, park for free, and not pay for beach tags... Oh, not to mention that the beaches look like this...
