Around this time last year we took a quick trip down to Atlanta for Kathryn & Daniel's engagement session. A little over a year later we hopped on another plane and got to spend the entire weekend enjoying Atlanta. Some great (and very fried) food later, we're back in PA and ready to do some blogging. When we arrived on Friday we were greeted by a rehearsal dinner with an awesome food truck and some of Kathryn & Daniel's friends and family... aka the coolest people on earth. Saturday was a whirlwind. We experienced some beautiful sunshine, an intense thunderstorm and some Krispy Kreme at 3am. Here's a few favorites from our time in Atlanta...

A while back we shot Lauren & Austin's engagement photos. Since then, they got hitched and returned to their temporarily-permanent home in the Philadelphia area. Last week we met up to take a walk through the city in fancy clothes. Well they wore fancy clothes. We wore t-shirts. We do a few post-wedding sessions every year and it's always an awesome way to get some portraits without the pressure and time constraints of the wedding day. Last Friday night we came home from Lauren & Gavin's wedding (see last blog post), charged batteries, slept and woke up to another gorgeous day with two unbelievably cool people. It was like cool-people-deja-vu. Kristen and Jon were just wonderful to work with. Jon saved the day with his clutch decision making in the midst of a tie dilemma and he and Kristen just seemed to enjoy every second of their day. We love that! Wow, what a beautiful weekend! Lucky for us, this April didn't really bring too many showers. Instead, we spent the last weekend of the month shooting two weddings. First up is Lauren & Gavin, who got married at Talamore Country Club. These two are laid back, fun and a perfect compliment to each other. It's so great shooting for people who can just kick back and enjoy their wedding. It helps everyone else do the same. We had a great time roaming around Talamore on Friday. Here's a few favorites...

There will come a time years from now that we'll look back on our lives as wedding photographers and think fondly of the awesome places we've gone, the great people we've met and everything that we loved about this job. When that happens, I think there's a good chance that we'll remember Tiffany and Dan's wedding. It was one of those days that was just beginning-to-end awesome.

Above all we love when weddings are unique and we love when people really kick back have fun. Tiff and Dan did a first look, spent a long time with us walking around the city for portraits and then joined all their guests for their short ceremony at XIX in the Hyatt Bellevue. They didn't have a bridal party or even a formal reception. Just a sweet (and fun) cocktail party. Then we headed out with them afterwards for some dancing and drinks in the city. Friday was special.

You see there's something weird about photography where it's kind of tough to shoot at the same place twice, especially right in a row. So we really wanted to push ourselves for Kara & Ken since we had shot at Vie the week before. It turns out it didn't take much from us. The wedding was beautiful. The people were beautiful and it was just so easy to have a good time. We really loved the outdoor ceremony space at Vie and it was great shooting our first outdoor wedding of the year. The weather is looking wonderful and we're really exciting to be getting into prime time wedding season. Enjoy!

We're turning a corner. It's a good thing. We're giving Jenny & Arthur all the credit for it. It feels like there have been exactly 2 not-completely-miserably-cold days in the past 5 months or so. We were with Jenny & Arthur for both of them. The first was their engagement session and the second was the absolutely gorgeous day that we had on Saturday in the city. We even had some of the bridesmaids in the 'splash zone' of the Logan Square fountain. Granted, that part was still pretty cold. Thanks to Jenny & Arthur for being amazing people with great friends.
