Jess and Geoff Part 1 (Manayunk)

Last night we met Jess, Geoff and their little guy Luis in Manayunk. We had fun, except for the pain that we caused Luis by making him stay out in the cold! Sorry little guy! You'll like us someday we hope :)

So, this is part 1 of a 2-part engagement session. We're going back out with these guys next week. Here's a little teaser for now. Enjoy!

Tiffany, John and Rocco | Triple Threat Engagement

Last night was a first for us. We shot the first half of Tiffany & John's engagement session with their 8 year old bundle-of-energy Rocco. It was pretty cool for us to basically do two types of shoots at the same time. Then, once Rocco left, the kissing started...

Next week is Thanksgiving week. We have a great announcement coming for this year's Shoot Me for FREE! contest, so keep checking in. Enjoy these and have a great weekend blog-stalkers!

  5. Tony/Amy,
Blog-stalker Dave here.. My wife and I both enjoy photography as well and yea – we both stalk you. I had to comment on the ring shot.. Absolutely stunning!! You are officially my favorite photographers and an inspiration!

PS: First noticed you were at Longwood because of those arches (after the ring shot) – great use of the place.

  6. Carolyn Richardson

Totally agree. That ring shot is one of the best I have ever seen.

  7. Tiffany

I have never been interested in photography, nor have I ever stalked a website or facebook. My daughter has been looking at your work and just got engaged and showed me. Wow, incredible stuff here. I guess I am an official stalker now. I called her tonight and told her to call you asap for a date in 2012. We are just starting the whole venue picking process and didn’t know who to call first. Great stuff!! Hope to meet you soon

Michelle and CJ get tagged

Michelle and CJ had to postpone their session the other week because of rain. Awesome decision. We had a gorgeous fall day at one of the coolest locations we've ever shot an engagement session... There's no way I'm sharing this spot!...

  1. WOW! Awesome job Tony and Amy. Michelle and CJ you guys look great and these totally capture your personalities!

  2. Michelle

We love the photos and had a blast hanging out with you guys the other night. Can’t wait until the wedding!

  3. I am really digging your ability to frame a couple very creatively…ie the wheel shot and the railing night shot.

  4. Allison Krosnick

This is a fantastic set of photos! I love them all! Great job!!!

  5. Cindy (cj's mom)

Absolutely Amazing job. I can not believe how perfect they all turned out. My favorite is the CJ <3's Michelle. What great captures.

  6. I am loving these silo pictures. I just took some pics of our little one by a silo, that I haven’t been able to upload due to a virus crash on our computer. I LOVE pictures that define fall this time of year. I love the one in the fields, favoring the right side, and the one in the corn. They are cutting down corn all over around here, and it makes me so sad. I captured some great corn pictures this season, that I have been dying to post.
These are fabulous! Great job! Thanks for playing up Fall, it’s my favorite time of year!

  7. Becky Arcadi

Tony & Amy – these are THE most incredible engagement pictures I have ever seen. You two are amazingly talented. Blown away….

  8. Probably one of my favorite sets of yours, well done Tony!

  9. sandra tooker (Michelle's Mom)

these two are a beautiful couple but these pictures are awesome

Can’t wait for the wedding photos great way to capture the love of this awesome couple

  10. Todd Goldfeld

Great shots as always, Tony. Love the location, too. I know exactly where it is – pretty much in my back yard. But don’t worry, I’ll keep it on the DL. ;-)

  11. Joyce Greco

I’ve been following you for a long while now and I must say that this is your best work…by far! Every single shot in this one seems like a portfolio piece. LOVE this series Tony! ! ! You have mastered something amazing in this one. -Joy

  12. Tom (CJ's Dad) and Carol Johnson

I am very impressed with the quality and creativity of these photos. Excellent choice of location, use of lighting and objects, poses, and — of course — the models :) Superb.

  13. Danielle

    Wow. These are amazing shots.

  14. Elizabeth Corbi

These are mind blowing! So very creative and masterful in every detail. When do these two get married? Can we expect that you’re capturing their wedding?! Hands down my favorite so far.

Lisa & Chris at Valley Forge

We've officially broken our shooting record this week. After returning from the Genesis workshop, we knew life would be getting a little crazy, but we weren't quite expecting it to be THIS crazy. After 5 shoots and 2 meetings in the last 6 days, we about to head to a back-to-back wedding. Such is fall in the northeast! No worries, the Hoffers have been working out all year for this.**

Last night, we went to one of the greatest places on earth, Valley Forge Park, to shoot for Lisa and Chris. Among the many reasons I like them is that Chris wore a jacket in 85 degree weather and they're getting married in Downingtown! There is truly nothing greater than a 2 minute commute to work on a wedding day! Enjoy...

** Applies only to Mrs. Hoffer

Seriously a deer in the shot too..come on hoffer next your going to tell us you can summon them on command…Great shots Loved 9.

  2. I thought the lined-up jet trails were amazing in the lacrosse team photo http://hofferphotography.com/2010/04/16/lbc-lacrosse-team-photos/. Now deer are posing in your backgrounds! Are these a-la-carte items in your packages? If so, what do you charge for these features, and what are the other unique options?

  3. Christina

I have been a silent stalker for a while now, but after seeing these I had to break my silence! You are BEYOND talented and always cease to amaze me. I can’t wait to see what will top the “posing deer” photo :) PS. Loved #9 as well.

  4. Rachel

My pleasure! Stalking is my favorite. =)

  5. Your Mom

I love the one with the three deer in the background. Trying to guess which one of you were gathering the deer and the other one waiting for the right shot.

  6. Kari

    Love them all, very beautiful!!!!!

  7. These are so good!

  8. Fantastic Job!!
How can we have you, in Italy, to teach in some workshop?? :)

  9. We moved to Chambersburg from KoP and lived walking distance to Valley Forge Park…memories :)
    Beautiful shots!

Allison and Jon at Longwood Gardens

I used to think I was a summer person. These last few weeks are beginning to change my mind. Such gorgeous weather lately. We spent a few hours with Allison and Jon at Longwood Gardens the other day and I could have stayed there for days. It's just incredible. If you're cooped up in an office right now, take a break and go outside. Wait, look at the photos, comment on them, then take a break and go outside!

Allison and John, you guys were so nice to work with. Jon sacrificed the Phillies game for this, but it was cool because they lost... until we got in the car and found out that they hit a walk-off homerun to win in the 9th inning. Oops!...

  3. Kim South

Glad you mentioned the blog again on FB as I sometimes forget as I scan the amazing photos you post.
I am without words to accurately describe the feelings that so many of your photos cause me to experience.
I have smiled, wiped my eyes and laughed out loud. I have been left wishing that I could be half as happy as you portray these wonderfully generous young lovers in your photos.
I have come to understand that the subject in the photo doesn’t have to take up 90% of the viewing space, and some of the most touching of the photos make me feel as though I am looking through a break in the shrubbery or glancing through an open door.
Your shots cause me to stop and take in everything as my eye moves to the intended subject.
I also look at everyday things and scenarios differently now.
Hard to believe after all these years, and for the first time I am “seeing” what makes the photo special.
Thanks for allowing me this spot to verbalize what I have been thinking about since I first saw your work online.
Kudos to Hoffer Photography…and thank you again.

  4. Danae

Allison – you look so happy and beautiful! You & Jon look like such a happy couple! Congrats! Tony & Amy, the pictures are beautiful, and I especially love the one with all the bright multi-colored flowers! Stunning!

  5. Allison

Thanks Amy and Tony!!! Love the pics!! They are wonderful :-) You guys are awesome!

  6. Thanks so much everybody! Kim, that really means a lot… THANK YOU!

  7. Love the Flower shot Tony. It’s so colorful and happy. One of my favorites.

  8. These are absolutely gorgeous! Bright flowers are my favorite!

Kate and Bob at the Boardwalk

Bob and Kate have a sweet house down at the Ocean City (NJ) boardwalk that we got to visit on Monday night. They had a good plan too! Some rides, some beach and get back to see the moon rise over the ocean. I thought they were being a little ambitious with the moon thing until I saw it. Wow!

You're about to get mooned...

  10. They are looking so gorgeous at beautiful sea.

  11. Haley

    you are awesome. The end.

  12. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a better series of night shots! Fantastic. I love that the beach presented lots of opportunities for completely different shots.

  13. Danae

Absolutely beautiful shots – just so creative! Moon shots were gorgeous!

  14. Tiffany

great idea showcasing everything OC has to offer….Great job as usual!

  15. Your work is so beautiful that I think I just felt a tear come to my eye. You have a gift.

  16. Really great photo with the wine bottle! Great images all around.

  17. Ro

ok that last one is off the hizzzzzy :)

  18. Mackie

I am truly amazed at your work. You are a true artist and an excellent photographer!

  19. These are incredible, and very imaginative, not at all what I was expecting. YOu have to understand that I grew up at the beach so when I saw the two of you in the life guard stand or on the beach or boardwalk they really resonated with me. VERY brave to put the ring in the boardwalk, unless that was something done in a studio. I loved every one of them. Kudos to your photographer. She/he did an incredible job.

Ashley & Erik at Rittenhouse Square

Last night we kicked it with Ashley and Erik who came from out of town for their engagement session in Philly... I'm really pumped with how this session came out. We had fun, we literally gave our blood, sweat and tears** into this one.

Hopefully by the next time I blog, we'll have a brand new niece :).... Enjoy everyone, happy Friday!

Once again a group of outstanding photos. You seem to be able to actually feel how much love these young people have for each other through the photos.
Good luck to them and thanks for sharing.

  2. Great job of matching the rim flash to sunlight – really consistent and well done. Great shoot.

  3. You know during some engagement shoots the couple seem more concerned with how they look than each other? Ashley & Erik just aren’t like that. They look so in love, especially Ashley’s smile, such a give away!
My favourite is the puddle photo. It’s very sweet.

  4. Jill Dougherty

These are AWESOME!! Love the ones with City Hall in the background!

  5. An amazing session! Those with the rim light are out of this world, especially the 6th from top to bottom! Those with the bike and that one from down the stairs (subway?) are my favorites but they all are part of an excellent work!

  6. Lee Florida

These are so great! Makes me regret we didn’t do an engagement session!!

  7. Ashley & Erik

We both had such a good time (despite the initial nerves!!) and are so pleased with all of the pictures we saw so far!!! Thank you so much!!!

  8. Love the shots specially the reflection shot by the curb. Great job guys!

  9. Seville

Great, great shots. Through your lens it reveals a young woman with a special laugh and it appears a guy who has played his cards just right.

The city is obviously romantic and you hope, or maybe you know, that they’ll never lose this feeling.

  10. Ashley and Erik are so natural. We are proud to share their wedding with them.

  11. Ashley and Erik —-How happy you make us all. Grandma and Grandpa

  12. Ashley and Erik —-What a great photo shoot. We loved it.

  13. Nikki

These pictures, in addition to all the others, are just absolutely amazing
