It’s part of the reason I started my Formspring page, so that they’d be more accessible (the other reason is because it’s incredibly fun and I like answering weird questions). Although I’ve had a few opportunities for things, I never had the time to put something together. A little while ago, I was contacted by Jake about doing a 1-day walkthrough/workshop to discuss techniques, gear, business and lots of other stuff. Well, since I have a little bit more time for this stuff in the winter, we made an event of it.

So on Friday, Jake, Sarah and Stephanie came into town to from all over the country for the official unveiling of the HoffShop! We had a very full day of chatting, shooting, and Q&Aing. It was cool for me to be able to share some things with other people and to demonstrate how I shoot for folks to take back to their own markets and (hopefully) help them be better photographers. You may notice a few familiar people here. The photographers all mentioned how lucky I was to have such awesome people to work with and model for me. Big thanks to Jacey, Amanda, Steve, Adrienne and Dustin for subjecting yourselves to all of our lenses and for your patience. Thanks to Heather for the house too! I’m lucky to know you all!

Lastly, a big thanks to Michaela Parlett who donated her time to help us out with Jacey’s hair and makeup. Michaela has worked with me on a few weddings now, does great work, and is super nice to have around. Plus, she always is on time (even if I’m constantly changing what time that needs to be). For all my future brides, I’d highly recommend Michaela. For my future grooms, you’re probably out of luck. I’m not sure that she does much male makeup.

Then we headed to West Chester to shoot around with Amanda & Steve. If there’s one thing I was bummed about, it’s that after being 50 degrees all month, it was about 20 on Friday. We stayed inside (at first)…





And then, inexplicably, Amanda & Steve agreed to go outside. Keep in mind that Amanda was wearing a little dress and took it like a champ. It was COLD!…

As usual, I forgot to take photos of the photographers. If there’s one thing most photographers have in common, it’s that we stink at taking photos of ourselves. After dinner, we grabbed a quick snapshot before we left. Thanks again to everyone who came and helped and to Jake, Sarah and Steph for a great, fun day. I really enjoyed spending the day with you all!
