Among the many things I love in life, doing portraits before the wedding is one of them. It takes so much stress away from the day and let’s people really enjoy and spend time with their guests. We were so lucky to get to shoot with Jessica, Matt and they’re incredibly fun (and inappropriate) bridal party for a while before their ceremony.

They had a nice backyard reception and a family home, so we just tried to shoot simple and clean in keeping with their day. Oh and we got to hang out with some of our favorite people, Nikki and Matt afterwards! Woohoo!

Deana & Matt’s Wedding at the Bellevue

This summer is weird. For basically every weekend since May, we’ve been treated to 95ish degrees, 200ish% humidity and bright, bright sun. I would estimate that Amy and I have lost a combined 375 lbs of weight in sweat this summer. So, naturally, by the time July rolled around and we were hitting 100, I was getting just a little bit nervous about some of these August weddings…

But alas, the weather was kind this weekend. We found ourselves with two beautiful days to shoot. Deana and Matt’s engagement session was one of my favorites last year, so we were pretty pumped for their wedding in South Jersey and at the Hyatt at the Bellevue on Saturday night. It was a great night, here’s what ensued…

The band, Atlantic Entertainment Group, was straight up awesome…

Stephanie & Dave’s Wedding

Friday, we returned to the place of one of our favorite weddings, Lauxmont Farms in Wrightsville to shoot for Steph and Dave. These two both served the country, then served it up on the dance floor (thanks, I’ll be here all week)… You probably remember these faces as we shot for them just a couple of weeks ago down in D.C.

I usually write more here, but we’re off to meet our brand new niece!!!! Congrats to Steph and Dave, here’s a few of our favorite shots. If you like them, Steph and Dave would love to hear your comments below :)….

Ryan and Joelle at the Radisson Valley Forge

I didn’t like Ryan very much when I met him. We played volleyball against each other in college and his team was always filled with short guys who could jump like frogs. As a pseudo-giant, there’s nothing more humiliating than having a short guy be better than you at a tall-man’s sport. Anyway, Ryan and I eventually worked together, played together and got to know each other more. After a while, Ryan met a girl as obsessed with volleyball as he was and gave me a call. Joelle is a total sweetheart too. We had a blast with them Saturday!

It was a record high temperature. We weren’t sure how it would go being outside, but I have to say a HUGE HUGE thank you to Ryan, Joelle and their entire bridal party for making it easy on us, having fun outside and ignoring the heat. We had a great time!

Oh, and everyone should get married at a place that has spotlights in their reception. Way cool… Enjoy!

The answer to your question here is ‘Yes’.

Nicole & Jimmy at Riverdale Manor

Saturday’s wedding with Nicole and Jimmy was another beautiful weekend day at another of our favorite places, Riverdale Manor. We actually got to sit with these guys at Emil and Jason’s wedding in October, so we’ve been planning out everything since then. It was quite the beautiful ceremony. Lots of cool moments, and outdoor dance floor, and tons of cool people. Just our perfect type of day…

Janine & Matt | Wedding at Welkenweir Estate

It almost felt weird to only have one wedding this weekend. Plus, it didn’t start until 6, which gave me just enough time to watch the World Cup… The U.S. Team = Total Disappointment. Janine + Matt’s wedding = Flawless Victory.

This one was a party. We were at Welkinweir Estate which is a really a beautiful place for a wedding. Two great people, lots of fun guests and a crazy, crazy dance floor all night…

Aftan and Eric | Wedding at Cairnwood Estate

After Amy and I get back from a wedding, we back up all our files and go through and take a first look through all of our photos. As soon as we saw the images from Sunday, we literally couldn’t wait to share them. Besides being close friends of ours, Eric emailed me 3 full months before he proposed to Aftan. These two have been as excited as anyone could imagine…

We shot Eric and Aftan’s engagement session a few months ago and it was one of our favorites. I can honestly say the same about their wedding. Not only did we have a blast, but everything was just gorgeous. Aftan’s dress was among my favorites ever. And when she waked down the aisle, the moment reminded me of when I watched Amy do the same 3 years ago. It was enough to make a big dude that talks like cookie monster get a little bit dusty. Ok, enough talking, onto the pics!…

Erin & Tim | Wedding in Maryland

I usually try to blog early Monday morning. But this morning, Amy and I woke up at 11am. We’re the first to admit that the humidity beat us to a pulp this weekend. If you ever want to lose 50 pounds in 3 days, come be our assistant!

We’re going to have a TON of new blog posts this week with some of our favorite weddings ever. Kicking it off for us is Erin & Tim. Their engagement session was one of those easy days when you realize that when people are so in love, all you really have to do is sit back and watch. Well the wedding was no different. After seeing well over 100 weddings, Amy and I both can honestly say that we’ve never seen two people who were more happy and excited to be married. We truly enjoyed every moment of their ceremony. Their love was so evident and it made the day a breeze…

Oh, and you might just happen to notice a Superman theme (unless you’re completely blind). While some weddings are reserved, vintage, low-key, quiet or many other things, this wedding can only be described with one word: FUN. Tons of fun! Congrats you guys!…

Cait & Jeff | Wedding in Lancaster

Wow, Saturday was great. It’s such a good feeling to be able to look through a wedding and feel like everything just went perfectly. Cait & Jeff were the reason why. Not only were they easy to work with, but they had some great ideas, lots of style and a really fun crowd of friends. We owe a huge thanks to the guys in tuxes who were running, jumping, playing cricket and bike-riding despite the heat.

The wedding was in Lancaster, so we travelled around with Cait & Jeff a bit beforehand for some photos. Later we met up with the whole bridal party. Reception was at the beautiful Hamilton Ballroom, a really easy place to work. One of those days that makes you wish you could shoot a wedding every day…

And then things started to get a little bit adventurous!… (See photo at bottom)
