Tiffany, John and Rocco | Triple Threat Engagement

Last night was a first for us. We shot the first half of Tiffany & John's engagement session with their 8 year old bundle-of-energy Rocco. It was pretty cool for us to basically do two types of shoots at the same time. Then, once Rocco left, the kissing started...

Next week is Thanksgiving week. We have a great announcement coming for this year's Shoot Me for FREE! contest, so keep checking in. Enjoy these and have a great weekend blog-stalkers!

As usual, incredible shots, Tony! I absolutely love the ring shot on the leaf, and appreciate your use of lighting in the last two. Great work!

  4. Drew Oliver

OMG – What gorgeous pictures of such a beautiful family! I absolutely looooove them, they should be in a magazine they look that good.

  5. Tony/Amy,
Blog-stalker Dave here.. My wife and I both enjoy photography as well and yea – we both stalk you. I had to comment on the ring shot.. Absolutely stunning!! You are officially my favorite photographers and an inspiration!

PS: First noticed you were at Longwood because of those arches (after the ring shot) – great use of the place.

  6. Carolyn Richardson

Totally agree. That ring shot is one of the best I have ever seen.

  7. Tiffany

Thank you so much for these beautiful pictures. You were able to capture our family in so many wonderful ways. We are forever grateful. Cannot wait for the wedding. John, Tiff & Rocco

  11. Darlene

I have never been interested in photography, nor have I ever stalked a website or facebook. My daughter has been looking at your work and just got engaged and showed me. Wow, incredible stuff here. I guess I am an official stalker now. I called her tonight and told her to call you asap for a date in 2012. We are just starting the whole venue picking process and didn’t know who to call first. Great stuff!! Hope to meet you soon

Allison and Jon at Longwood Gardens

I used to think I was a summer person. These last few weeks are beginning to change my mind. Such gorgeous weather lately. We spent a few hours with Allison and Jon at Longwood Gardens the other day and I could have stayed there for days. It's just incredible. If you're cooped up in an office right now, take a break and go outside. Wait, look at the photos, comment on them, then take a break and go outside!

Allison and John, you guys were so nice to work with. Jon sacrificed the Phillies game for this, but it was cool because they lost... until we got in the car and found out that they hit a walk-off homerun to win in the 9th inning. Oops!...

These are beautiful! You guys look great…and great job Tony and Amy!

  2. amazing job guys!!

  3. Kim South

Glad you mentioned the blog again on FB as I sometimes forget as I scan the amazing photos you post.
I am without words to accurately describe the feelings that so many of your photos cause me to experience.
I have smiled, wiped my eyes and laughed out loud. I have been left wishing that I could be half as happy as you portray these wonderfully generous young lovers in your photos.
I have come to understand that the subject in the photo doesn’t have to take up 90% of the viewing space, and some of the most touching of the photos make me feel as though I am looking through a break in the shrubbery or glancing through an open door.
Your shots cause me to stop and take in everything as my eye moves to the intended subject.
I also look at everyday things and scenarios differently now.
Hard to believe after all these years, and for the first time I am “seeing” what makes the photo special.
Thanks for allowing me this spot to verbalize what I have been thinking about since I first saw your work online.
Kudos to Hoffer Photography…and thank you again.

  4. Danae

Allison – you look so happy and beautiful! You & Jon look like such a happy couple! Congrats! Tony & Amy, the pictures are beautiful, and I especially love the one with all the bright multi-colored flowers! Stunning!

  5. Allison

Thanks Amy and Tony!!! Love the pics!! They are wonderful :-) You guys are awesome!

  6. Thanks so much everybody! Kim, that really means a lot… THANK YOU!

  7. Love the Flower shot Tony. It’s so colorful and happy. One of my favorites.

  8. These are absolutely gorgeous! Bright flowers are my favorite!

Katie & Ivins at Longwood Gardens

Yesterday was the first time in a few years that we shot 2 sessions in the same day. We had a blast at both and even got to take a little nap in between! If you missed it, here's yesterday's post from with the Young family.

Last night we headed back out to shoot for Katie & Ivins at Longwood Gardens. We go way back we these guys, since we're slowly making our way through their group of friends... you might even recognize them from a few past weddings (like this one.... or this one). What a beautiful night...

Very nice once again. Every shoot there is some new effect.
    Thanks for my daily fix.

  3. justine

you two always make my friends look so pretty =) thank you again for your awesome talent!

  4. Danielle

beautiful, creative pictures! the first picture of the ring is stunning. great work

  5. Gorgeous work Hoffers! I love the frame :)

  6. Leaf + Ring = Art. It’s almost like an oil based painting. Good job.

Did you use your 100 2.8 for that? I have a hard time with Macros on my 5DII I think because there’s no native magnification factor on the body and I can’t get ‘as close’ to the subject as with other cameras.

Rachel & Nate | Black Belt engagement

Don't mess with these two... they'll kick your butt. We had so much fun shooting these on Friday at Longwood Gardens. He's a karate instructor, she's a dance teacher, they're both black belts... all of this should be pretty obvious awfully soon :)

Their wedding is in September, we can't wait!...

I am Rachel’s Dad, and fellow 5D owner. You have an outstanding eye for composition, and a great Lightroom preset. I agree, it does take hours and hours to get it right. Love the use of the Radio Poppers for flash. Great exposure choices.

We are looking forward to meeting you at the wedding, and I probably should just leave my camera at home!

Ooh. That karate kick looks way cool. I don’t know karate whatsoever but I’ll have to get my wife to lay down in the grass so I can give it a try. Great pics.

  12. alice agostinelli

I agree that these are great shots. I know how important photography is to you, Rachel. I think you made an excellent choice of photographers. Will you be doing any action shots in your wedding dress?

  13. David Kirk

I’m Nate’s Dad- These are fantastic shots. Lighting is awesome. Subjects are awesome. Action is awesome. Couple is awesome too. Ok, so I’m a bit prejudiced, but its still true. A great example of PROFESSIONAL photography.

Jenn + Matt | Engagement at Longwood Gardens

Wow, it's gonna be a busy week. Gonna be blogging every day with a WIDE variety of things. First things first, here's an engagement session I shot last week at Longwood Gardens with Jenn + Matt. We had a bit of a scare with weather but everything worked out just fine. Matt was sick and couldn't really talk, but he toughed it out and I'm pretty sure I healed him with my hilarious jokes :/... Going to a session right now, so no more time to talk. Check em out!...

Adrienne + Dustin | Engagement

On Monday night I had the pleasure of spending some time in Longwood Gardens with Adrienne + Dustin. They're getting married next summer. The first time we met, I realized that these guys have about 1 million connections with other clients I've shot for. In fact, Adrienne is the second Miss Delaware contestant I've shot for... weird.

Anyway, this is one of my favorite engagement sessions this year. You really can't go wrong with a great location, great weather and really great people. It was fun and I'm excited to show these images. Thanks to Allison for lugging all my gear around and coming up with some good ideas! Enjoy!...

Awesome handstands...

My favorite shot that I've taken in a long while... I love this one for some reason...

As someone who doesn't normally notice eyes, aren't these the greenest eyes you've ever seen?...
