On Saturday, we were in Lancaster at the Leola Village Inn and Suites. First of all, I love that place. We'll be going back in a few weeks. It was without a doubt one of the most beautiful ceremony and reception venues that I've shot at.
Now, if you'll excuse me for a minute, I'm going to talk about some of my favorite clients we've ever had. Emil & Jason are quite simply awesome people. Besides the obvious fact that they chose me (which alone makes them awesome), they were some of the most fun/easygoing/trusting people that we've shot for. From day one, Emil has been outspoken with her friends, on online forums and on this blog with spreading the word about my work. I don't think that many people realize just what a difference that makes for a business. So, strictly from a business perspective, Emil and Jason, I owe you a HUGE thank you for everything you've done in your excitement. Please know that I've been just as excited to shoot your wedding and am so grateful that I've had you as clients.
So, with that said, E+J also made a lot of decisions that made our job easy and (hopefully) made their photos better. I'm going to use them as a quick case study in case any future clients are interested... Here's some things they did:
1. Gave us lots of time for individual and group portraits. This makes a big difference in finding interesting spots and trying some fun things.
2. Saw each other before the wedding. While I recommend this to every couple, this is a perfect example of how it really gave us the best opportunity for portraits and relieved some of the stress (Jason even power-napped at one point).
3. Cared about the details. Emil put a ton of effort into all the little things that really helped make the venue even more beautiful and put her touch on everything, while at the same time being laid back with the bridal party so they could have fun too.
4. Had fun. It was their wedding day after all, why stress out?
So, now that I've typed entirely too much, here's some photos. Enjoy!!...

A good example of having extra time and extra options. Here's our makeshift photo booth...
