Last week we went to Philly to shoot for Dan, who runs Love City DJs. He needed some work for a new website, promo materials, ect. We wanted to get something that felt urban and dark, but that showed that Dan is fun and normal (unlike most DJ photos)

A Canvas Print Giveaway!! (Facebook Style)

Since we’ve had a pretty slow week due to weather, we thought we’d take this opportunity to give away a FREE 20×30 canvas print (that’s a $400 value) to one of our clients from 2010!! We’re doing it based on votes. The most votes wins… There are no rules. You can fix the contest however you’d like. Get your friends, get your family, hide your kids, hide your wife.

Compelled Promo

This is our last ‘new work’ post of the year and our second to last blog post of the year. I’m getting teary just thinking about it…

Earlier this week, we were in Philly to shoot a promo shot for Compelled, who we shot for earlier this summer. You many recognize them as they’re now repeat offenders. So, when they asked for a promo shot, I went scouring for some great locations. Lucky for me, I’m friends with some pretty spectacular people.

My friend Adam (not the Adam that runs this, another Adam) is the driving force behind the Helping Hands Rescue Mission in Philadelphia. They provide meals for the homeless, after school programs for kids and are a legit source of light in an area of Philadelphia where its sorely needed. We were lucky to get to use a yet unused and unrestored part of their building for this. If you’re looking for a local place to volunteer and/or support with you dollars, you won’t find something much better that this…

On Wednesday, we had the privilege of hanging out with the guys from Compelled. These guys are from Jersey and (besides being super cool) just won their way into their biggest show yet in just a couple of weeks. Definitely check them out…

We love shooting bands for a few reasons, but among them is that we get to talk music (something we’re both awful at in every way, but still care quite a bit about). Shoot Me For Free!! (Part 2)

Back by popular demand, the second annual Shoot Me for Free!! contest is here. You know it’s the second one because I’m using two exclamation points this year. Here’s all the details:

Who Can Enter:
• Anyone with an idea. (Yes that’s you.)

What you Get:
• A FREE 2 hour, on-location shoot with me (Shoots over 50 miles may require a travel fee)
• $50 in HoffBucks
• Eternal fame and fortune

Rules:
• Complete the entire entry form below, including location, idea and an uploaded photo of yourself (or whoever the shoot is for)
• Contest ends on December 15, 2009
• Winner (or winners) will be chosen by me, based on what I think is the best idea or shoot. If this sounds biased and unfair, well, it is! :)

How to win:
• Come up with a great idea. The more creative the better. The shoot can be anything: Bridal, Engagement, Family, Baby, Post-Wedding, Commercial, Model, or something completely new and different. You tell me what you think would be cool.

Lucky Friday | Band

Early this week I shot some promo stuff for the guys from Lucky Friday (download their new song free on their website). Great group of guys to spend an afternoon with. You might recognize Dave as a former groom of mine. When Dave told me he was in a band, I must’ve made the look that other people do when I tell them a photographer. I wasn’t really sure what to expect. I was really surprised at just how good these guys are though. You definitely need to check them out. On Wednesday, I had the pleasure of shooting for Adam Haines, who I met while shooting a wedding last summer. He’s currently working on a new album of contemporary piano music. The dude can play! Anyway we got some shots for his new album artwork at the Mirriam Theater in Philadelphia and a few other random spots in the city… Enjoy!
