Kellie & J.C.’s Underwater engagement session

Whenever we meet clients, there’s one thing we almost always say: “We’re up for ANYTHING. We’d get bored shooting the same things over and over again. So, when we started scheduling Kellie & J.C.’s session, we thought that doing a shoot IN the water would be pretty awesome… and it was. It’s so cool to be able to just dive around and shoot. There’s on big negative though: The dirty Jersey water. We couldn’t get much stuff truly UNDERwater because, well, it was brown… haha. Regardless, we’re pretty excited about this session. Big ups to Kellie and J.C. for being willing to step out and do something different with us!

But, we owe a HUGE thank you to Mike from Essex Surfhousings for hooking us up with the sweet custom underwater unit for our camera. The housing fits like a glove, still let’s us use all the camera functions and didn’t take in a drop of water. LOVED it! Oh, and we’re not sponsored or anything, so don’t think we’re blowing smoke :)

Ok, onto the photos…

And before we go, we owe a HUGE thank you to our friends Glen and Violet from GMElliottvideo who came along and shot video footage for us for a quickly upcoming project. Their footage and work is incredible… Thanks guys!

Nice work Hoffers! It’s refreshing to see engagement pics as “abnormal” as these. The 13th image down is my favorite of this set (kissing in the deep). I love the silky water on the lower half of that shot. Lovely.

  2. Glad to see you worked in a Baywatch reference!

    Nice shots!

  3. OMG… it doesn’t hurt that you had the best looking couple EVER ! what a dream.. and what a shoot. Those underwater housings are great… my dad and I are Scuba Divers – and he was doing a ton of underwater photography in the 90′s with those housings and film camera’s. big up’s to you guys.. you devoured this shoot, then spit it out and devoured it again: Two times Devoured ! NICE
