The Good and the Bad…

Working the way we do, we're often blessed to get to know people pretty well very quickly. One of the families that I've gotten to know really well over the last year just sent me a note that I wanted to pass along to the blog world. There's nothing better than having people value my work, but as much as I appreciate it, I hope this doesn't come off in that way. In my many interactions with the family over the past months, I've gotten to feel pretty invested. So this email was hardhitting for me in both good and bad ways. I'm changing the names to Jack and Jill...

"Believe it or not, I've just gotten around to getting the photo framed and it looks unbelievable. 'Jack' is still getting over the shock of it all. It just looks so incredible. Some day when you are in the area you should stop by and admire your work. It has more meaning than most will ever know - our family treasures it.

Unfortunately, we just found out in January that 'Jill' is very ill and needs to go in for major surgery next month. It's really serious, but she has such a strong, positive and beautiful spirit that we know she will fight this. Looking at the photo reminds her daily of how much she loves life and how each day is a gift. It means the world to all of us. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for all of the beautiful photos of the kids."

Many of you have probably seen her smiling face on here, so If you're the praying type (and I hope you are), send out a prayer for her. A great girl from a great family.

What other's had to say

  1. A very touching story Tony. A good photo is the essence of spirit, which lives whenever someone views it with an understanding heart. Your client/friend is certainly in my prayers, I hope she recovers fully and quickly.
