Erica & Andrew | Wedding in Baltimore

Ok, so before I get started with this post, I have to mention that there's ONLY 1 DAY LEFT in the Shoot Me For Free contest. Soon, and very soon, I will be able to remove the very loud and attention grabbing banner from the top of this page! I've had some phenomenal entries so far. Many of them have been in different parts of the country, and even in other countries. Many have great ideas as well. If you're still thinking of submitting something, please remember that I'm looking to do NEW things that are fun and creative. Get the ideas working!

Ok, so with that said, on to this weekend's wedding! I was extremely excited to shoot for Erica & Andrew again. Their engagement session last year is still one of my all-time favorites. They were even in my Rangefinder feature last month. It had been over a year since we'd seen these guys though, so we were pretty excited to head down to Baltimore. A few words about the church and the reception venues. WOW and WOW. Just gorgeous places, both of them. So easy to shoot with so many options.... Enjoy 'em...

One of my favorites... No editing need on this one... woohoo!! :)

Erica & Andrew had a HUGE bridal party. I think they win the award. 18 people in total. I was joking with Amy that I needed to rack my brain for all of my 18 people-poses...

I wasn't lying about the church...

Just throwing this in there, so you guys can all see the nicest man on earth...

Thanks to my new buddy John for helping me out on these next two while Amy was off shooting something else...

Check the cake out!!...

Landscapes of the Main Line | Commercial

If you listened to my interview with Rangefinder Radio a few weeks ago, you heard how some of my favorite photography to look at is landscape and commercial photography. I may have even mentioned that I hope to do some of it someday. Well, I didn't have to wait very long. I was commissioned by George's restaurant in Wayne, PA to shoot some shots around the Main Line, their local area. For those of you who aren't from here, the Main Line is a historic part of Pennsylvania, known for it's enourmous and magnificent mansions. Many of these structures are still used as houses, schools, ect..

The restaurant is going to be displaying photos of many local attractions or well-known sites. So, here's a few of my favorites from a December day in southeast PA. If you want to see some of this work on display, head down to George's in Wayne. Great place with a great Director of Sales (who you can see here). Enjoy...

  1. Nice man! I love architectural photography, wish I had the time to get into it a lot more. 2010 might be a good year! I work for an architectural woodworking company, so I certainly have access, just need the time. I love the compositions.

Having lived on the Main Line my whole life, you kind of forget just how gorgeous it is here. Recognized everything immediately. Especially loved the Devon shot as Ashley competes there every year. Really beautiful.

  5. Oh Tony I love these photos. Really makes me miss good ole Wayne, PA…

  6. Hey Tony,

Sara & Nick | Wedding at the Lake House Inn

It's here. Snow has hit Pennsylvania...

Saturday, I got to shoot at one of my favorite places, The Lake House Inn, for Sara & Nick's wedding. If you don't remember them, check out their engagement pics. Last week, as Saturday was approaching, it was becoming obvious that the weather was going to put on a performance. We weren't exactly sure what kind, but we got lucky that it was snow (at least in my mind). So, after some long drives to and from the church, watching a beautiful snowfall and having a grand old time, here's some favorites from Sara & Nick's wedding. Enjoy!

The easiest way to get some photos taken of your child, have them be the flower girl or ring bearer in a wedding. I couldn't believe how many great photos we had of Olivia, so I had to share a few of my favorites..

The Semonskys | Family Session at Longwood Gardens

Well, it's official. It went from fall to winter in about 6 minutes. On Thursday it was 65 degrees, Friday it was 45 and Saturday it snowed all day. As usual my feelings on winter are as follows: I really LOVE the first day of snow and am simply fascinated by it. I absolutely DETEST every other day after that when it's under 50 degrees. Weather, you are officially on my naughty list.

Friday I made my way to Longwood Gardens with the Semonsky family. These guys came down from Bucks county for our family session. Among many things I liked (including how nice they were and how willing they were to brave the elements), my favorite part of the day was getting to shoot a baby in a fur coat... awesome! So, here's a few of my favorites. It's officially Christmas season on the HoffBlog... Enjoy!

Quite possibly my favorite baby photo ever. Is it too early to say that she's got "the look"?...

  1. These are amazing Tony. So many great ones here. Absolutely love the ones with the lights in the background. The first one is adorable.

  2. lauren

Nothing like the cutest baby ever to brighten up my Monday morning blues! Great Job Tony.

  3. Valerie

LOVE “the look” photo! Another fave is the one where she looks uneasy about the looming Christmas tree behind her…cute expression.

  4. What a great subject you had with that little ham. It really makes the job easier when you have good subjects to work with. Great shots.

  5. Great pictures, I simply love the one with baby and lights on background.

Conner Kids | Family Session in Malvern

Tony is slowly getting caught up on work. Tony is crawling out from under a pile of editing. Tony is almost done speaking in the third person...

What a great year it's been. I can't believe it's December. I feel like it's still 2008 in some ways. This year absolutely flew by so far! Still have a few more portrait sessions to get in before the Christmas rush and a bunch more weddings coming up soon. Also, check back tomorrow or Friday for the return of the Shoot Me for FREE!! contest...

For now, here's a session from last night. You may recognize one of my beautiful subjects from her Senior photos just a few months ago. We headed back out to the same place to get a bunch of shots for a Christmas photo and album. I got muddy, stepped in some poop and laid down in some hay... a good afternoon, I'd say. I also realized that I'm getting old. I made a reference to the movie 'Scream' only to realize that these guys were all less than 5 years old at the time... Good move geezer. Anyway, onto the photos...

First, the photo for the mantle...

I love the feel of this. I’m drawn to preppy, which probably explains things but this is just great. Plus, I want those dogs. And maybe a horse. And that blouse with that blazer. How do I add that to my Christmas list?

  2. Mom

Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart. They are even more beautiful than I imagined and you definitely captured each of their very distinct personalities. It’s unbelievable how that comes thru in every photo. You are simply the best!

  3. Awesome images Tony!!! So much love here. What a beautiful family.

  4. These three youths are my neices and nephews. You have captured their beautiful spirits in photos!!!! What gorgeous lighting, what perfect balance, how can I get one of these photos? I want a photo of them sitting on my coffee table in all their splendid energy .
