Erin + Dave | Engagement

On Monday I went down to West Chester with Erin + Dave. These guys are getting married this summer. It's exciting for me to start reconnecting with a lot of the clients I booked a long time ago now. Erin + Dave were really cool and natural in front of the camera. Good times chatting and taking a stroll around town. I'm going to be seeing them a lot at some other weddings throughout the summer... so keep an eye out for more soon... Thanks Erin + Dave.. enjoy!...

One man's trash is another man's photo prop...

The last three standing in the high windows – awesome! Great color. Trash = photo prop…love it.

  2. Sam

Well done Tony, the last one is my fav of the bunch too.

  3. I like the red chair… especially with the ring. Nicely done.

  4. Absolutely top notch. Definately loving the “goofy” comp with the split right down the center as my favorite, because it really brings a sense of fun into the whole set and kind of helps set the mood for the rest of it.

  5. Great work, Tony… one word I’d pick to describe – “fun” – definitely portrayed them as a fun couple, and communicated that through fun, crazy, sometimes daring pics. Keep it up!
(and congrats on 425 fb fans!!)

Veronica & Matt | Wedding

On Saturday, we headed over to Delaware county for Veronica + Matt's wedding. In a weird way, this wedding was sort of full circle for me personally as I took my first ever photography class at Rosemont College, where the girls got ready, a long time ago. Pretty cool I think :)

Veronica + Matt are a cool couple with great friends and families. The first time we met Veronica her whole family came and it was clear how close they are. It was a really emotional day for everybody. Lots of tears and lots of laughs... Matt unknowingly almost even made Amy cry during his vows... almost :) Enjoy...

Special thanks to this awesome driver, who was driving another bride and groom that day, but broke down. He offered us a photo op, even though he was sitting there broken down. 2 gold stars for you, nice driver guy.

Jeff & Sarah | 1 and 3/4 Anniversary

Looking back over two years from when this was a small, part-time business for me to now when it's such a huge part of my life, it's remarkable to me how few people are responsible for it. That sounds weird I know. The truth is that while I (we) have really been blessed with lots of fantastic clients, there are a few who for some odd reason have seemingly made it their personal mission to help us grow this thing. Jeff and Sarah have been so instrumental in the growth and development of my business, that I don't think I could ever really thank them enough.

I shot Jeff and Sarah's wedding back before I had a blog, a website or much of anything. I'm not really sure why they even hired me back then, but I'm glad they did. As a thank you for all of their great guerilla marketing for me, I wanted to do some anniversary pics for them. Sure it's not exactly one of their anniversaries, but close enough. Jeff and Sarah, with all sincerity, thank you so much for everything you've done for me and us!

Jeff suggested a Spiderman shot. I know it's probably been done before, but I doubt anyone has held themselves upside-down using bamboo before...

Jeff is a big James Bond fan... Sarah is a loving wife who supports her husband...

Candice & Aubrey | Triple-teaming Oakland

In March, I shot a wedding for Candice & Aubrey in Oakland, CA with two of the best photographers you'll ever find, Ed Pingol and Sam Hassas. This was Sam's wedding, but he was again so generous in letting both Ed and I have a huge part in it.

Before I get to the images, I want to say a few things about each of those guys... primarily that they are the complete realization of my theory that the nicest people make the best photographers. Ed is a wealth of knowledge and is perhaps the most creative thinker I know. He knows how to deal with people, and makes breathtaking images. It was such a pleasure shooting with Ed, and I'll think we'll be doing it again soon.

Aside from being a fantastic photographer, I owe Sam (and his wife Monica) a HUGE HUGE thank you for letting me crash (virtually unannounced) at their house for like 5 days. It's really a shame that we're 3000 miles apart because we've become good friends and it's such a pleasure to hang out, shoot, and get to know the Hassas's. I can't say enough good things about Sam & Monica. Thanks guys!

Enough of the gushing, onto the images...

Thanks to the guys for climbing onto the roof..

We split up the portraits and I got the Bride & Groom :)...

Literally no editing on this, crazy cool lighting...

From the balcony...

My favorite shot of the day...

Sam, Ed and I. Awesome guys, great wedding, good times.

  1. I wonder if that couple realized they had three of the best photographers in the country just shoot their wedding!

    Awesome job, guys.

  2. Wow, what a Dream Team! Hassas, Pingol, and Hoff.

  3. My favorite is the one of the groom on the roof. I love the contrast of the tux with the grit of the buildings. And I like that his upper body was cropped out.

Maria & Eric | Engagement

I had a really great engagement shoot last night with Maria & Eric. Somehow, we apparently picked the one place in Pennsylvania where it wasn't raining all evening and got some great shots. Good times along the way... I hiked a cliff, hung of the edge and took a spill on my way back down... and all for a shot that you'll probably never see. Let this be a lesson to all of you: If you're going to dangle your body over a 30 foot cliff, make sure its worth your while.

Anyway, Maria and Eric are really cool. We had a great time hanging out and I'm very happy with how these turned out. We left on a pretty good note, as you'll see with the last shot :)... Enjoy...

Big thanks to Maria + Eric for their patience while their photographer dissected how to incorporate a wedding cake into this pic...

There's a funny outtake from this shot... but I'm afraid Eric would get arrested if it got out...

It didn't rain the whole time we were there.... but we wanted one more shot with some rain in it. So as we were discussing how we wished it would just start raining, it started. I hate playing favorites, but this is probably my favorite shot of the year, and among my favorites ever. Of course, it's only existed for a few hours, but I think that's how I feel about it...

Megan & Tim | Wedding

Wedding season is officially in full swing now.... On Saturday, I shot a wonderful wedding for Megan & Tim at the Audubon Society. It was a beautiful place for a beautiful wedding. It's a relatively new venue and I would highly recommend it. Just a great place.

Megan and Tim booked me after some gentle convincing. I really wasn't going to take any more May weddings and Megan wrote me the nicest things and pretty much killed me with kindness. I'm so glad I decided to shoot their wedding. It was such a great time, but more than that, Megan & Tim made for great bosses for the day.... they were some of the most laid-back and enjoyable clients I've worked with because they were so considerate to us. I left their wedding just so thankful for having great clients.

Ok, so onto some pictures... A big shout out to my friend Alan who came out and 2nd shot for me. A few of these shots are his, including the first one. I'm so proud to kick this wedding season off on such a great note... enjoy :)

Megan checking in on her frozen butterflies (you'll see those later)...

Wedding dresses can be complicated...

A really cool 'ring blessing'...

This is my favorite shot of the day. Megan was having veil issues all day. As soon as they left the ceremony, off went the veil. I almost missed it... almost :)

Creepy... check. Awesome... check.

Sorry about this M&T... these were too funny not to post...

  1. Tony… you’re my photographer buddy, collegue and you just keep blowing my mind with your style and substance. If I were ever to have my wedding vows renewed or something crazier that needed stunning photography… you are my goto guy. Bar-None!

  2. I think the B/W of the two older men talking… such great character in the faces.

  3. (I meant to say “I like…”)

  4. Sarah Bateman

Lindsey I couldn’t agree more – I feel like the photo of the old men should be a magazine add for something!! Love them Tony!

  5. sara

    Great pictures!!….love the dress!!

  6. Valerie

I love the OWL (I have a thing for them anyway), butterfly and the two old men. Looking at other comments, you might have to feature that one in a future portfolio!

  7. My 2nd shooter Alan took the ‘old men’ picture… it’s a great one!

  8. Beth Ann Podsobinski

Oh I am so mad – I just wrote a disertation and lost it. It was full of comments on for and about the pictures and exhaultations for your incredible talent. You are amazing at capturing the real thing. I cried my tears of joy finally today after seeing the initial set you put up……I only wish my last comments didn’t get lost in the space of internet land….. THe dress on the wall is just phenomenal – it is gallery material. The two old men are talking about how Bonnie’s Dad ( Meg’s GP) and my Dad his brother – Joseph and John Podsobinski (both deceased) would be saying “these kids are getting married younger and younger every year!.” They would have been beaming. Brian the bro with the veil from hell on should be the “hiding of the Bachelor Brother!” The lounging of the feet is the old married couple….. The fence kiss is just True Love….. I wish I could send you a picture of Megan in a fluffy pink dress sitting on the couch at less than 2 yrs as gorgeous as she is today and the independence of her doing a cartwheel in her white communion dress with white gloves on the grass – Thought her mother was going to kill instigator “Aunt Beth Ann”. Thank you for not posting any bad photos of The Reader!!!! I trust your judgement – you truley have a gift and I am no longer as photogenic as Bonnie and Megan as I once was. Do wish we had had a shot of the three of us….. But could not get everything!!!!! You are the best….I only hope I still have a chance at this age to use your talents!!!!!! Thank you for bringing so much joy again today. “Aunt Beth Ann”

  9. Beth Ann Podsobinski

Also, Tim is so wonderful, that he could capture the beautifully free butterfly Megan and be a solid loving equal companion for her forever. They compliment each other so well. The two have become one and the one shall remain two individuals with a relationship so great that they radiate the meaning of true love. Their companionship will grow stronger each year as have their parents and grandparents. Love is timeless.
    Yes Beth again~!

  10. Beth Ann Podsobinski

The wise Old Owl could see through us inspite of his owl eye damage…. He was part of the icing on the cake for a Megan and Tim the Earth children wedding!!!!! Bobache (spell Polish for grandmom?) Aunt Sophie – Megan’s Grandmom was there in every branch of Dogwood in the arrangements of flowers. The Knockout Martini’s could have added to the women who bumbed off “Jerk” the groomsman who knew how to dance with the ladies!!!!! I can go on and on……..if you want more eme – This wedding has brought more creative writing back out of this mind than I have done in decades! Beth Ann again!!!!!!

  11. Libby Higgins

Tony and Alan-these are amazing shots! I have goosebumps and cannot wait for you to shoot our wedding here next summer! That owl is photogenic. He’s smirking!

  12. Matt Schreier

Tony, I am so amazed at every shot. As a small time photographer, your work is truly inspirational. I think your motto should be called “the moment”, because I feel like your shots are showing that exact “moment” that something magical happens each and every time.

  13. Howard Hong

    Fabulous work.

The Slaters

Earlier this week, I shot some family photos at one of my favorite places, Valley Forge Park. You may recognize some of these faces, although some of them have probably gotten a bit older since then. Taking pictures of kids is so easy when they're smiling... Good times! Enjoy...
