Julie + Andy | Wedding

A Saturday night in Central Pennsylvania :)... We headed out to Mifflintown for Julie + Andy's wedding. Of all the things I enjoy about weddings, seeing how people incorporate important things in their lives is one of them. For Julie + Andy, that thing is music. You'll probably notice that theme throughout the post...

After we left the wedding, Amy said to me that she had absolutely no doubts that Julie + Andy would have a very happy marriage. They're two people who are just incredibly nice and well-suited for eachother. Thanks for letting us be part of the wedding, and thanks for letting us do weird things with you (and your dress).... Enjoy...

Trying to keep the nerves away... part one

Trying to keep the nerves away... part two

Andy surprised Julie with a song... and boy could he sing!!

And that's the way they became the Miller bunch...

Jen, a former client of ours, who is probably the prettiest expectant mother you've ever seen...

Andy got handcuffed and lost his pants... This is the 'safe for work' version.

Love the photo of the flower girl and ring bearer. My caption would be for the flower girl “Wait till they see what you did to the car.” For the ring bearer “Sh! Please don’t tell any one that I just asked you to marry me”

Any New Yorkers like to eat??

Sorry for the light blogging week. I had a few shoots postponed this week. Starting Sunday, I'll be blogging a ton over the next few weeks, so keep checking back.

Next Thursday 6/4, I'll be in New York City with some other photographers doing some stuff around the city. We're organizing a dinner on Thursday evening for some photographers to hang out and talk shop. If you're in/around NYC and want in, send me an email for the details. We'll be meeting somewhere near the photography mecca (aka B&H on 33rd and 9th).

Check back soon for more pics!...

Lindsay + Ryan | Wedding

Saturday was sort of a special wedding for us... it was Amy's birthday. Not only did we have a great day shooting, but we even had a private table for two for dinner during the wedding. Sure, no one really did it on purpose, but it was a nice surprise to share a birthday dinner while I made Amy work.

Lindsay + Ryan got married at Riverdale Manor in Lancaster. I have a few weddings there in the next year or so, so I was really glad that it was a cool place. After the wedding, we found out that my uncle helped build their reception venues.... crazy! Anyway, Lindsay + Ryan were great and their families and friends were so nice to us. There's a few things that we hope to see when we show up at a wedding. At the top of the list is laid-back couples who are genuinely happy to be getting married. Pictures are so much better when people smile :)... Onto the pics... Enjoy!

Some tasks are more difficult in a wedding dress... (Amy took this)

There was this monstrous tree near the ceremony... I had my eye on it all day... and yes, I realize that normal people don't say things like that...

Lindsay wanted a shot near the water. I kind of knew I was gonna like this one before I took it...

No ants were harmed...

Jackie + Nate | Engagement

On a rainy day last fall, I had to postpone Jackie + Nate's engagement pics. On Friday we made up for lost time with them at the Curtis Arboretum. Great place! Lots of marble columns! (Bonus points if you know what that's from).

Jackie and Nate are getting married this August. We're gonna see them a bunch this summer, so this is just the beginning. We shot these while a wedding was going on nearby, so we had to be stealth. Enjoy...

Happy Birthday Amy!!

Here's a quick note to wish a happy birthday to my wife Amy. I'll save you all much of the sappy love talk and try to keep this photography related, but will simply say that without her support, I wouldn't be anywhere close to the photographer I am. From buying equipment to helping me with shoots or making decisions about photos, Amy has always been more than I could have asked for. I'm so blessed by having her as my wife. Happy Birthday!!!

Stephanie + Ryan | Wedding

Our second wedding of the weekend was at the Knowlton Mansion in Philadelphia. Stephanie and Ryan are such nice and easy-going people... Piece of cake to work with. Ryan claimed to be shy, but he did great in front of the camera. Stephanie on the other hand, isn't exactly shy...

This was a rare morning wedding for us. We really loved it, particularly the waffles that we got to eat! Mmmm, breakfast at weddings. Sometimes morning weddings are a bit less of a party, but I don't think anything was stopping this wedding party... Good times, enjoy!

Stephanie and her 'dude of honor'...

Stephanie + Ryan aren't really PDA-ers... so they faked everyone out...

An all-around really solid crew... I mean that.

One of the better cake-smashings ever...

Nikki + Matt | Wedding

Friday we shot the first of two weekend weddings down in Wilmington, DE at the Hotel Dupont. We've known both Nikki + Matt for a while now, so it was great to see their day finally come. It's really fun doing weddings for friends... although it's sometimes hard to avoid taking pictures of our other friends the whole time.

The wedding was gorgeous, and the Dupont is just beautiful... not to mention that the weather held out for us all day. Here's some of my favorites from the night... Enjoy!

Not a bad venue, huh??...

Lots of tears throughout the mother/daughter dance...

Nikki | Bridal Portraits

I'm really excited to be offering something new this year.... Bridal Portraits! More of a custom in the south, brides can now start scheduling Bridal sessions for themselves.
Some benefits of bridal sessions:
- Trying everything (hair, make up, jewelry) out before the wedding (most of you do this anyway)
- Getting relaxed portraits without the stress of a wedding day
- Going to a location of your choice
- Saving time on the wedding day by doing some photos ahead of time

I'm kicking off the 'Bridal Portrait campaign' with some shots I took this week of a bride I'm shooting for this Friday. Nikki promised me that Matt won't look at these beforehand, so I'm posting them the night before the wedding. I'll be posting the full wedding soon... Enjoy...

No dresses were harmed...

This looks like an old Hollywood shot to me. I like it :)
