Kara & Jay | Engagement

Sunday was probably the perfect day. We spent the whole day at the beach then shot an engagement session in the evening... oh, and we had ice cream. What more could you ask for?

Jay and Kara are friends from college. Jay was my roommate for a while... and after living with him for 2 years, I can confidently say that he batted out of his league with Kara. We had a really good time walking around some...um...interesting places around the Jersey shore. Special thanks to the Empress Hotel for GIVING us a hotel room to get ready in. That's a whole other story. Anyway, onto the pics. I really love these and hope you do too...

Amy grabbed this snapshot while I was trying to figure out how to take a cool engagement shot using this building... so, I think Amy wins.

Kelly & Jonathan | A (SURPRISE) Wedding

Surprise, its a wedding! Ok, so a few months ago an old coworker of mine got in touch and informed me that she was planning a SURPRISE wedding. For real. I didn't really understand, but had no idea how they'd pull it off. Well they did. Here's the scoop. No one except us and one of Kelly's friends knew about the wedding. NO ONE. That includes parents, friends, bosses, ect... So how do you have a wedding when none of the guests know it's a wedding? See below...

Check this cake out... and it only required a few white lies to get it ordered too..

Before the festivities, we went to the Fonthill Museum and the Tile Works in Doylestown for some photos.

Then it was back to the house to get ready for the wedding. Here's the ceremony site... pretty sweet for a living room!!

Waiting.... Waiting... Waiting...

The parents arrive!... and find out that their kids are getting married!... right now!

The mayor preparing the license...

All done! Thanks Kelly & Jonathan for letting us be a part of the story and for bringing us into the circle of trust! Congratulations!

Mai & Josh | Post Wedding

Thursday I went to Longwood Gardens with Mai & Josh for a post-wedding session. They were married about a year ago, and I became their 1-year anniversary present :).... Ok, I'm not sure if that part is true or not, but I like to think it is. Longwood is a great spot and we had a good time exploring, climbing and standing on things that we definitely shouldn't have. Good times were had by all. Thanks to Jason for coming along, lugging my 300lb (exaggeration) bag around and for being an all around good guy. Enjoy...

There are about a million spots like this at Longwood. It's beautiful!

This would be a roof. The ground was about 30 feet below. Adventurous clients are good :)

Kim & Dan… Just a tease…

So last night I went to the city to shoot with Kim & Dan. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't cooperating. We snapped a few shots off, but then had to postpone the engagement pics till later. So here's a few for now, more to come soon...

  1. That first one is excellent. Love it.

  2. Stalker

I have a thing for the shoe photos that you do. Seriously. LOL. I love that first shot too!

  3. The lift off out of the shoes is creative and funny!

  4. Awesome first shot Tony :)

  5. Tony,

Been watching you on FM for some time. I have to admit that I love your photography.

I also want to say that the chain that blocks the stairs at 30th St says NO ENTRY, or something to that effect, which just illustrates the lengths that you’ll go to to get the shot. :)

    Nice little set.

    Regards,

    Simon

Rachel & Kyle | Engagement

Sunday Amy and I were in West Chester (aka our future hometown) to shoot with Rachel and Kyle. These two live about a million miles away from each other and fly to see each other every 2 weeks! Insane! Talk about commitment... I don't feel too bad for them though, they've been to England and Paris this month and are on their way to Alaska soon. Besides the whole being far away from the fiance thing, I'm pretty sure that they're my heroes.

Anyway, we hung out in town and got some great engagement pics for these two. Unfortunately, we can't do their wedding in October. Some lucky photographer will get some great people and really good looking models... enjoy!

Thanks to the owner of this house and this telephone booth! Amy got permission via the neighbor and a cell phone. She's the best...

These are just what I’d envisioned- only better! We had so much fun and you’ve given us something to treasure. Now I REALLY can’t turn down the volume on the smile!

  2. These turned out great. I’m pretty sure it was because Rach wore such awesome shoes, as always :)

  3. Adrienne

  4. Becky

LOVE them!! I love the one that looks like she is walking on air!! Beautiful couple!!!

  5. Kathy S

The shoes capture the essence of Rachel E.
I like the shot where you are laying on Kyle’s lap on the red bench, shoes punctuating the scene.

Andrea & Bill’s Casablanca Shoot

Saturday night I shot the last of the winners from my Shoot Me For Free contest from late last year. Andrea won simply because she had such a cool idea. She wanted to do a themed shoot, Casablanca style. Her boyfriend Bill came along and we walked around St. Peter's Village. Wow, what a great spot...

These two were awesome. So good in front of the camera and lots of fun to spend a few hours with. Anyway, we toyed with various ideas (like copying some shots from the film), but ended up just doing a 2009 meets 1940's type thing. I came to the conclusion that I really like props... a lot. Good times... check it out!

Probably my favorite shot...

Amy didn't get many chances to shoot since I was doing lots of directing, but whe she did, she made it count. I love this shot of hers...

I almost didn't want to do these because another photog I know does something similar, but we found this frame and it was too good to pass up!

Ben & Samantha | Just Because…

With this post, Ben & Samantha have a stronghold on the 'Most times ever appearing on this blog' title. When I needed some models for a mini-workshop type thing I was doing, they stepped up and gave us their time. In return, here's a few photos I grabbed of them as I was instructing.... If you leave a comment, don't tell Ben that he's batting out of his league, he already knows that!

Amber & Kevin | Engagement

Last night, I met up in Phoenixville with Amber & Kevin. Their wedding is coming up this September. We had planned to explore all around town, but as usually happens when my brain is involved, we made it about 2 blocks total. Good times...

Amber and Kevin are really fun and love to laugh... which is good because I do some stupid things while I shoot. Thanks to Alan for coming along with us and helping out... he got some great stuff too!

One of my favorite rings ever...
