Last Sunday, I had the pleasure of second shooting a wedding in Sacramento with my buddy Sam Hassas. I have the utmost respect for Sam and his abilities. So much so, that he’ll be shooting a session for Amy and I in March. He’s a fantastic photographer. Check out his photos from the wedding HERE.
Second shooting was a weird phenomenon for me. It was a lot less pressure. That fact alone allowed me to forget about the normal responsibilities and just get creative. It was a very good lesson for me, to remember that I need to make art, not just cover an event. Also, I was very grateful that Sam let me take some responsibility. We were able to split up some of the normal duties, so it was more like a dual wedding.
With that said, here’s some photos of Marius and Tanya… two great people that I was lucky to meet. I hope I can see you guys again soon. Thanks for allowing me to come shoot with Sam!
I covered the guys before the ceremony…

Fun crew…

Some sweet checkered floor…

Sam gave Marius the camera… I’m gonna try this.

A packed Romanian church…

Ladies and Gentlemen, my boss for the day, Sam Hassas.

I just had a brilliant idea (or so I’d like to think). Let me share… I loved the old Bible picture of the rings but thought, “It would be nice to see the rings standing up instead of on their side, but how could you do that?” Then I was reminded of sticky tack, you know that white gum like stuff that you put posters up with in dorm rooms?! If you carried a little film canister of sticky tack with you, it might help you secure the rings in more positions for shooting and it’s easy to remove! Okay, maybe that’s dumb. But if you do it… I get .86% credit for the picture turning out great. :P
Lisa Lent:
What an unreal set Tony! Particularly love the first one of the groom (may have to steal that idea one day) ;) What a gorgeous couple :)
Emil:

Tony Hoffer:
Love that idea Lindsay… I’m definitely trying that.
Cristina:
well.. about „the idea”.. it„s not an old Bible, it`s Cantarile Evangheliei – The Songs of the Gospel- an old christian song book.. :)love the photos, love the bride and the groom:)
Ovidiu:
I really enjoyed all the photos. But I was impressed by atmosphere, tones and composition from Serbian-21.jpg.
And glad to see some con-nationals around here…;-)
