Colorado

We made it. We’re here in our hotel in Estes Park and it’s awesome! Amy and I got to do some sightseeing today and I took a ton of pictures. For now, here’s a couple of our trip up and some various stops we made on the way…

Holding a camera outside the car is scary…

This was our first glimpse of the Rockies…

We made a pit stop at this lake on the way…

This is at the top of the Rockies… way, way up there. I have a whole bunch more pictures of this trip, but you’ll have to check back later this week for those.

Lastly, we had a little treat. We didn’t know that Estes Park apparently has one of Colorado’s biggest fireworks shows on the 4th of July, but we found out and made it a priority. While I don’t consider myself overly patriotic, we really are blessed to live in the country we do. Amy and I try to make a point to thank God almost daily for the little things we have that many other people in the world don’t (I’m talking things like food and clean water). And while I admit to complaining from time to time about some of our countries faults, it’s important for me to remember that God has blessed our country with things like knowledge and resources to do miraculous things, like treating my mom’s cancer last year. Thank God for that.

Anyway, here’s a shot of the fireworks. Many more photos to come this week, so check back!
