Well this post is coming about 2 months too late. By now I’ve had time to break my New Year’s resolutions (not that I had any), and I can make brand new ones. So, here are some goals for us this year, (mostly) pertaining to photography.
1. Get personal – we’re doing lots of fun stuff like buying a house and going to Colorado. I want to take tons of pictures and make sure to show them to everyone.
2. Beef up – This goes with #1. I’m hoping to add a FAQ section to the website and some more info and/or pictures about us, as well as some pictures of the albums that we offer.
3. Say thanks! – Thank you notes are Amy’s big project. People always thank us after their weddings, but that’s sort of backwards… so we’re going to be more intentional to thank everyone of for their business and for choosing us, in as many ways as possible.
4. Lighten the flash load – We’ve built a stinkin’ arsenal of sweet lenses (more on that soon), so it’s time to use the biggest, brightest light source we have and try not to use as much flash. Flashes should be like insurance, you use them only when you need to.
5. Raise the bar – We’re working on some cool new ideas for new wedding packages that will be coming out in the next few months. We have new (and great) album choices and we’re going to be offering some design services with our higher end packages. Keep your eyes open!
6. Get behind the camera – I’m hoping to spend more time behind the camera and less time behind the computer. This should make Amy happy. Now if I could only hire someone to be the office manager…
7. Meet more photographers – I’m really hoping to spend some time getting to know some of the “competition” and hopefully getting to work with some of them at some point. There are some other really good photogs in the Philly area and networking can not only help our clients but the whole wedding photo scene in our area.
8. Boycott Starbucks – As I mentioned before, we’re buying a house. Now we don’t have to keep light stands in our living room!! We’ll be moving in a few weeks, so we’re hoping to have potential clients over to our place to meet with us. It will be so nice to chat with people without a cappucino maker in the background.
9. Win something – Photo contest, award, even a certificate or free medium fries… I don’t care. That’s just how shallow I am.
10. Blog more – I’m working on it.
